Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission (NWIFC) provides direct services to 20 treaty tribes of Western Washington to assist them in their natural resource management efforts. In 2007, W2A joined federal and state government officials, industry leaders and the NWIFC to celebrate the completion of historic Puget Sound Shellfish Agreement. The agreement paves the way for reliable shellfish harvesting for both Puget Sound tribes and commercial shellfish growers. W2A coordinated efforts to secure federal funding and legislation from Congress and the Bush Administration and finalized the agreement with the Departments of Interior and Justice.

Russell Investments is a pioneering global investment company and the creator of the Russell Index. W2A helps Russell develop, implement and manage its federal affairs strategy, including the company’s government relationship building plan. TriWest Healthcare Alliance is contracted by the Department of Defense to provide health care services to our nation's active duty, Guard and Reserve and retired uniformed Services members in 21 western states. W2A helps TriWest manage its relationships and issues with several key Members of Congress from the western United States and helps TriWest with its communications and public relations efforts in the Pacific Northwest. W2A worked with TriWest to win its contract with the Department of Defense in 2003. At that time the contract was estimated to be worth $10 billion. University of Washington (UW) is the Pacific Northwest’s largest university and one of the world’s preeminent research universities. W2A provides the UW with strategic counsel on local, state and federal government relations. W2A helps the UW capitalize on funding opportunities through the budget, appropriations and grant processes. American Life, Inc. is a large property investment and management firm headquartered in Seattle. W2A works with American Life to secure the support necessary to establish Regional Centers in the Pacific Northwest. Once a Regional Center is approved by the federal government, American Life utilizes foreign investment as one source of funding to develop projects in communities that are underserved. W2A also advises and helps with public affairs, government affairs, and political issues.

BLT Enterprises is a privately owned, Southern California-based company that develops and operates material recovery facilities and transfer stations. W2A worked with BLT Enterprises to help site and locate a waste facility outside of San Diego, California.

Breakwater Security Associates – W2A helped to introduce Breakwater's data security and storage technology to key technology decision-makers in the State of Washington.

Brisben Development – W2A helped Brisben Development manage and understand local and state regulations and requirements to develop affordable housing units in the Puget Sound area.

Campbells Soup Company, in addition to making its world-famous line of soups, is a holding company that owns the Pace, Prego, Swanson, Stockpot, V8, and Pepperidge Farms brands. W2A helped to relocate the Stockpot facility within Washington state.

Chehalis Power built a 130mw natural gas power plant in Chehalis, Washington in 2001. W2A handled local affairs, public communications, and state government affairs for the company.

Chelan County Public Utility District operates hydroelectric projects on the Columbia River that deliver clean, renewable energy to local residents and to other utilities that serve seven million residents in the Pacific Northwest. W2A helped Chelan PUD secure the first ever Habitat Conservation Plan for a hydroelectric facility in the nation and continues working with the utility on government affairs strategies and communications efforts.

The City of Auburn is the thirteenth largest city in the State of Washington with more than 40,000 residents. W2A manages and advises the City of Auburn on a range of federal and state policy issues, including working to secure funding for major roads initiatives and to successfully compete for federal grants under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The City of Mukilteo, located in Snohomish County, was ranked number ten in Money Magazine’s Top 100 Small Towns in America to live in. W2A works on a comprehensive federal government affairs and communications plan to effectively move the city's priorities forward. W2A has helped the city to create a vision around its federal funding priorities and to seek the necessary funding. In six months time, W2A has re-engaged the Air Force in decades-long negotiations that would ultimately allow the transfer of 22 acres of waterfront property, providing the public new access to the Mukilteo waterfront.

Export Grain Terminal (EGT) Development, LLC is a joint venture composed of three international grain train leaders: Bunge North America, ITOCHU International and STX Pan Ocean. Together they are investing more than $200 million to bring a state-of-the-art grain facility to Longview, WA. W2A is part of the local team, utilizing both the firm’s government affairs and public communications experience to assist with the successful completion of the first export terminal built in the United States in more than two decades.

Davis Wright Tremaine is a national business and litigation law firm based throughout the United States and around the world. W2A worked with Davis Wright Tremaine to implement a public communications and advocacy effort in Washington, DC on behalf of thousands of Alaska citizens impacted by the Exxon Valdez disaster.

Hawaiian Waste Systems is a Seattle-based company dedicated to addressing Honolulu’s waste disposal needs with a unique system of processing and export. W2A worked with Hawaiian Waste Systems to secure approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to ship municipal waste from Hawaii to the Roosevelt Landfill on the Columbia River in Klickitat County.

Grant County Public Utility District Grant PUD owns and operates two hydroelectric dams on the Columbia River, representing one of the largest non-federal hydroelectric projects in the country. The Wanapum and Priest Rapids facilities produce enough electricity to power a city the size of Seattle, and Grant PUD strives to achieve a careful balance between resource protection and power production. W2A worked with federal agencies and policymakers to help secure a 44-year license for Grant PUD, ensuring the continued supply of clean, renewable energy for millions of electric customers throughout the Northwest.

Linn County, Oregon has a population of more than 100,000 and is the home to businesses in wood products, agriculture, mining and manufacturing. W2A worked with the county on its federal government affairs strategy to make sure it had a voice in the critical federal county timber payments program. W2A worked closely with the Linn County Sheriff’s office and Parks Department to implement a funding strategy for a new emergency operations center and key parks funding. W2A also successfully secured more than $500,000 for a new technology lab for the Linn-Benton County Community College.

Lewis County PUD provides electrical energy to Lewis County residents and business and operates the the Cowlitz Falls Hydroelectric Project, which produces on average 260,000 megawatt hours (Mwhrs) annually. As a subcontractor to the law firm Gordon Thomas Honeywell, W2A is helping the PUD on the Chehalis River Basin flood control issue.

Microsoft Corporation, the world’s leading software designer, has revenues of more than $60 billion a year. W2A worked on state government issues related to competitiveness and workforce.

National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) is an educational research institution based in Seattle. Originally inspired by Senator Henry “Scoop” Jackson, NBR’s mission is to inform and strengthen policy. W2A is working with NBR to help establish the Slade Gorton International Policy Center, which will provide research and public programs reflecting Slade Gorton's principles and dedication to public policy. W2A is helping develop and execute the public and private funding plans to support the Center’s operations and is working with the UW and NBR on a project to archive the Gorton papers.

The National Mining Association is the official voice of the American mining industry in Washington, DC. W2A served as a strategic advisor to the CEO on communication, policy, and political issues.

Pend Oreille Public Utility District serves 8,700 customers in 1,400 square miles in Northeast Washington state. W2A helped Pend Oreille PUD secure a hydroelectric license for the operation of the Box Canyon Dam on the Pend Oreille River. This license enables the production of critical, low cost energy for the sparsely populated county while also balancing environmental responsibilities.

The Port of Benton, located in Richmond, Washington, offers barge, air and rail shipping, economic development, and land for sale and lease. W2A worked with a consortium of local governments including the Port of Benton, fire, school, and library districts to ensure the continuation of the valuable payment in lieu of taxes that the Hanford Nuclear Reservation provides to local jurisdictions.

Power Resource Managers is a public power resource management, risk management, and trading firm operating primarily in the Northwest. W2A worked with PRM to help negotiate contracts with the Bonneville Power Administration and to promote its member organizations - Benton, Franklin and Grays Harbor County Public Utility Districts - to the Washington state congressional delegation.

Ramgen Power Systems is a privately-held research and development company, focused on energy-related applications of supersonic aircraft technology. W2A supported Ramgen's technology by working to secure a place for it in the federal budget for the U.S. Department of Energy. This technology is so advanced that it is now being applied as a carbon capture opportunity for the coal industry.

Rayonier, Inc. is a leading international forest products company with lines of business in timber, real estate, and performance fibers. W2A worked with Rayonier to address its checkerboard forestland ownership and endangered species issues in Washington state. Specifically this meant working with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to achieve equitable land value as the company sought to utilize government programs to address these matters.

StoneMor Partners, LP is a large cemetery and funeral home corporation traded on the NASDAQ National Market. W2A worked with StoneMor on a state government affairs strategy to change current licensing law. W2A worked with the State Attorney General’s office and the Department of Licensing, engaged the industry association on our client’s behalf, and implemented a legislative strategy in Olympia.

Tractebel Power is a Belgian company that owns and operates numerous electric power generating facilities in North America. W2A was retained to review the entire scope of the intersection with governmental agencies between Tractebel and its facilities in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. and create a comprehensive government affairs plan.

Trident Seafoods is a harvester, processor and marketer of seafood from Alaska, the Pacific Northwest and around the world. As one of the largest, vertically integrated seafood companies in the world, Trident faces any number of issues. W2A works with the company to establish and implement successful government affairs and communications strategies.

The Washington Forest Protection Association is a trade association representing private forest landowners in Washington State that grow, harvest and re-grow trees on more than 4 million acres. W2A worked with WFPA to secure an enormously complicated and intricate Habitat Conservation Plan that included the private forest industry, the state and federal governments, and tribal interests. This plan is now allowing for continued, sustainable harvest in Washington's private and state forests.

The Washington Health Foundation is devoted to improving health for the people of Washington state with the goal of making Washington the healthiest state in the nation. W2A helped WHF develop state and federal government affairs strategies to support health care initiatives in Washington state. W2A successfully obtained federal funding for the formation of a Rural Health Quality Network and developed funding strategies for other rural health care initiatives, including a plan for the development of sustainable provider networks for military families.

The Washington Public Utility Districts Association represents 27 not-for-profit, community-owned and operated utilities that bring electricity, water, wastewater service and wholesale telecommunications to more than 1.6 million people. W2A worked with a coalition of utilities, businesses, and consumer groups to change proposed federal policy to helped ratepayers and local utilities get lower power rates through Bonneville Power Administration contracts.

The Washington State Hospital Association represents community hospitals and several health-related organizations in Washington state. W2A helped to coordinate a coalition of health care providers and the State of Washington to execute a federal government affairs plan. This coalition worked with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to mitigate harmful regulatory changes, and ultimately secured $70 million in federal funds for health care in Washington state. W2A also helped to coordinate some of the association's annual trips to Washington, DC.

Weyerhaeuser Company is one of the largest pulp and paper companies in the world, with more than $16 billion in revenue. As a member of the Weyerhaeuser federal affairs team, W2A provided key strategic advice on the company's federal affairs and political strategy. W2A played a key role in helping develop and execute the strategy to help the company obtain a critical tax provision.

Whatcom Transportation Authority serves the 190,000 citizens of Whatcom County by operating buses, paratransit, vanpools, and several Park & Rides, and its ridership is increasing faster than any other transit agency in the nation. W2A is working with WTA to obtain the federal funds necessary to replace its aging bus fleet with new, biodiesel-compatible buses.

The World Shipping Council is the voice of the liner shipping industry, representing 90 percent of global vessel capacity. It works with policymakers and other industry groups with an interest in international transportation. W2A worked with the World Shipping Council to navigate post-911 requirements and regulations regarding international shipping, and managed specific government affairs operations.

The Yakima Reservation Irrigation District is an organization representing the fee landowners that rely on the Wapato Irrigation Project within the Yakima Indian Reservation for irrigation water. W2A has worked with the YRID board to ensure participation in rate discussions, lease negotiations, and in general, to be recognized as one of the very few irrigation projects in the nation operated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The Yakima Valley Growers-Shippers Association is a non-profit trade association serving the Yakima Valley tree fruit industry. W2A worked with the Yakima Valley Growers-Shippers Association and a coalition of local governments and irrigation interests to research and develop a strategy to help increase water storage resources in Central Washington.
